Hawaii equals romance. No other destination in the world stirs the romantic embers of love quite like this exotic, American paradise. With year round tempertures averaging 82 degrees, mocha colored, volcanic beaches and enchanting polynesian culture; it's a heavenly retreat for anyone seeking romance in a big way. Mention the word, "Hawaii", and colorful images spring to mind.....Jewel toned sunsets in the richest of reds, vibrant golds and colors found nowhere else on earth..Sun sprinkled water that shimmers like expensive silk in candlelight....How about a tropically beautiful, lavishly appointed room with a priceless view of it all? Okay, that probably isn't one of your FIRST thoughts, but maybe it should be. After all, who wants to travel that far and stay somewhere that's less than the best? And, if the purpose of your holiday is romance, you probably WILL be spending a lot of time in your room. So, for you incurable romantics, poets, or anyone seeking blissful inspiration; "Hawaii's Most Romantic Room Views," awaits your arrival. Our search took us to Oahu and Maui. (the two most popular Hawaiian islands) Seeking only those special rooms with the most spectacular views.
Waikiki Beach, Oahu PACIFIC BEACH HOTEL ------------------- A magnificant hotel located just 60 steps (across the street) from Waikiki Beach. The moment you enter the lobby, you know it's special....From the courteous, streamlined check in process, to the three story, 280,000 gallon, lobby aqaurium...(divers sometimes unscroll giant watery messages such as, "Will you marry me"?? or "Happy Birthday", to unsuspecting guests.) Original artwork by local artists adorn the walls throughout the hotel.(including guest bathrooms!) Room 1720 is a masterpiece of cool colors in sand and crisp white. This one bedroom suite sports a marble entry leading to an oversized living room and separate bedroom area. The hand designed bedspread and 500 thread count cotton linens, ensure luxurious comfort. Some in-room amenities include, crystal glassware, a mini refrigerator and an expresso machine. The view of the ocean is breathtaking. It's impossible to tell you're not directly on the beach, from inside the suite. (It's apparent only when standing on the terrace)
HILTON HAWAIIAN VILLAGE ----------------------- This sprawling resort covers an astounding 22 acres on Waikiki beach. Six towers, 90 shops, boutiques and over 20 restaurants and bars, comprise this self contained, slice of paradise. Rainbow Tower, room 1401 is to romance what Shakesphere was to drama, Michaelangelo to art....absolute perfection. This large, corner room is swathed in light, creamy beiges and quiet tropical splendor. From the enormous bed or either of the two terraces, a heartstopping view awaits. We were captivated by the drop dead, dramatic view of Diamond Head and the lovely Honululu coastline. Outrigger canoes...arms rowing in calculated unison, dot the waterscape. Joggers circle the giant manmade lagoon 14floors below. The terrace offers a magnificant opportunity to watch magic unfold. As the sun sinks below the horizen, a dazzling, cobalt blue, embraces the entire room. While an extravagent, display of color sweeps the sky. At night, throw open the sliding glass doors, and drift off with the soothing sound of waves rushing ashore.
Maui, Kaanapali Beach HYATT REGENCY ------------- The air is fragrant with plumeria and tuberose. (both are locally grown trees whose blossoms are used for lei's) The mammoth, open air lobby is alive with lush vegetation and tranquil streams stocked with gigantic, Japanese Koi. Colorful birds whistle as though lovestruck at every passerby. Polynesian penguins orchestrate a waddling contest to the amusement of a group of onlookers. Diversions aside, room 1518 beckons. The kingsize bed covered in a shockingly white, down comforter, feels soft and cool as a cloud. The sliding glass door opens, revealing a private terrace facing the pool and famous, Kaanapali Beach. Cushy, semi-private beach chairs can be rented for 15.00 per day; including services of a dedicated beachside waiter who delivers fresh pineapple and bottomless pitchers of ice water. One night the hotel set up a movie screen in the pool area, complete with popcorn and sodas...watching "The Sixth Sense" under a Maui moon with your beloved...could it get much better???
WESTIN MAUI ----------- This massive, self contained, resort is a tropical beauty; convenient to all Kaanapali has to offer. Whalers village, with it's award winning restaurants, (check out, "The Hula Grill") chic shops, and art galleries...just steps away. Expansive and diverse, this resort has a lot to offer romantics. Bridal parties and lovers strolling hand in hand are a common sighting here. Lose yourself in the swells of abundant greenery lining the winding paths scattered throughout the resort. Room 1039 with its, "heavenly bed and bath" feature, (300 threadcount, snow white, linens), made me feel like an angel nestled amoung clouds. The chocolate colored wood used throughout the room was the perfect accent. A huge, half moon shaped balcony, took in the divinely superior ocean view, and extravagent Maui sunsets.
