Welcome to the January issue of The Traveler

We look outside our office window here in mid-town San Francisco and the unseasonably spring-like weather has The Traveler longing for adventure. After all, it's a new year and time to plan for new journeys to placed as yet unexplored.

That's what we love about the new year, it brings with it new possibilities.

We'll try to explore some of those with this issue, starting with our feature articles from two veteran travel writers and regular contributors to The Traveler, they'll take us on a trip through Vienna, explore the wine offerings there, and then off to warmer climes in our second installment featuring Trinidad's little sister island of Tobago (which The Traveler was fortunate enough to visit back in 2000) .

For this issue and the next, we'll be looking at anthologies of the best travel writing for 2006 in our travel writing pick-of-the-month section.

Finally, we have our latest roundup of travel ideas, bargains, and resources for all your travel adventures in 2007.
