Welcome to the September issue of The Traveler!
We're back from our Alaskan Adventure, and kicking off our feature articles for September with The Traveler's own rather inauspicious arrival in Skagway - a lonely town when you show up a 4AM. Next we'll bike and sail through the romantic Dalmatian Islands of Croatia, and then discover an unexpected surprise on a dreamy Tuscan afternoon.
Since we're just back from Alaska, that's our theme for the Travel Writing Pick-of-the-Month. An anthology of voices tell of life in the Great North of Alaska, from the urban center of Anchorage to the most remote reaches where families have settled and live a hard life off the land. A great way to see beyond the tourist busses and cruise ships into the real Alaska.
